    I recently purchased Surf Laundry Detergent in the powder form to try for the first time.  Needless to say, the value of the product for the size of the box was hard to pass up.  Until now, I had been using the same laundry detergent for many years, but due to economic hardships I am trying to cut my spending, so I decided to try something that was less expensive and fortunately, I just happened to have a coupon.

    Of course, I bought the big economy box that does 120 loads and I was thankful there was a handle at the top, which makes it easier to carry.  The smell of the detergent is really nice, too, and it seems to get my clothes pretty clean and my whites nice and bright.  So, for the most part, I have been pretty satisfied with Surf.  However, Read the rest of this entry »

    Last week I traveled out of town for a bowling tournament and the host hotel for the event was Homewood Suites by Hilton.  I have stayed in many hotels in the past but I have never stayed at Homewood Suites, so I didn’t know what to expect.  Thus, since the tournament had a special price arrangement with the hotel, I took advantage of the offer and made a reservation.  Since my husband was travelling with me, I requested a king size room.

    The location of the Homewood Suites I stayed in on this visit was in Bedford, TX.  The check-in time for this particular location is 3:00pm, however, we arrived at noon and after a brief 30-minute wait while our room was being prepared, the desk attendant gladly allowed us to check in early.  She was extremely pleasant and courteous.  We then Read the rest of this entry »

    We have always had dogs in our family, and have had a total of 3 dogs for the past ten years, yet we have never had an issue with fleas, until now.  I have been told that this is the worst it’s been in Houston for fleas, according to my vet and to several of my friends whose vet told them the same thing.  Supposedly, the flea infestation is being caused from the drought we had last year, which has stimulated an uncharactersticly large amount of flea activity this year.  All I know is that our dogs are “inside” dogs, and we have been battling fleas for about 3 months, already.  We have performed all of the recommended preventatives several times, but to no avail.  We have treated our back yard, washed all of the dogs’ bedding and blankets in the house, vacuumed the rugs and furniture, and have given our dogs flea treatment.  Unfortunately, Read the rest of this entry »
